“A Helium Heart” dVerse Open Link #100

Into the night passes
a conversation,
an intellectual tip
from the sky.

Women of freedom
lie naked
in the night.

I risk myself and
the one perfect
place in paradise,
an unintentional
sacrifice.

Tomorrow’s unseen
from here, happiness
is a helium heart
traveling on soft sound,
a sign the river runs swiftly
through the lilies,
covered in morning dew
atop the river.

Happenstance is
a sad silk
that covers
the moon,
where peace plays
when the world
revolves in dust.

  1. happiness
    is a helium heart
traveling on soft sound…love that bit…
and the choice to risk paradise for this moment as well…
    we never know come tomorrow…

  2. Pamela, it seems the word ‘happenstance’ is in the air travelling around the globe today. Several times I have been meaning to look up what exactly it means. Such a lovely word and though a noun, it often seems used as an adverb.
You certainly have the world turning with this.

  5. Really like this, pamela–moody and dreamlike, but a feeling of density, purpose and compression under what seems to flow freely, drift aimlessly–esp like ‘the one perfect place,’ and ‘a sign the river runs swiftly,’ in the way they mark out and embellish the phrases around them.
